Experts discuss reproductive health

Health experts are consulting on how to guide workers in handling women during pregnancy and after delivery.
 
The consultative meeting will put in place a standard for health care service for pregnant mothers, says Dr Alexander Dimiti, the Director-General in the national Ministry of Health, Radio Voice of Hope reports.
 
He says the standard will guide treatment of women during pregnancy and six weeks after delivery.
 
Dr Solomon Orero, a health consultant at the national Ministry of Health says most pregnant women probably die because of delay in accessing service.
 
There should be more outreach in service courses, says Dominic Chan Dut, the Director-General of Northern Bahr El Ghazal State Health Ministry.
 
Rumbek Medical Director, Dr Barnaba Bol says records in Rumbek Hospital show few pregnant women complete their last visits for maternal check up.
 
The one day consultative forum was conducted in Jur River with the support of UNFPA.
