Juba Monitor Editor vows to overcome media freedom threats

Juba Monitor Newspaper Chief Editor vowed to overcome threats facing media freedom in the country and that the recent suspension of his paper would not frighten him.
 
Alfred Taban told Radio Bakhita after the paper resumed publications on Saturday that media outlets in South Sudan are facing enormous challenges.
 
He says the one-day suspension of his Newspaper let to 25 thousand US Dollars lost and that Juba Monitor would not seek compensation from the security because the officer who ordered the closure did so without a formal letter.
 
Security operative on Friday suspended Juba Monitor Newspaper after it published an article criticizing the army for allegedly committing atrocities in Wonduruba Payam.
