The Secretary of the Catholic Archbishop of Juba who visited Wonduruba on Saturday says a big population is still hiding in the bushes fearing insecurity to return to their houses.
Fr Samuel Abe told CRN on Monday that in his two-day stay at St Josephine Bakhita Wonduruba Parish, few people returned to the area.
Fr Abe says people are hungry and need help and that it was a pity for him to see IDPs waiting for the Central Equatoria State fact-finding committee eating sugar cane because of no food after looters emptied all shops.
The Secretary expresses concerns for the government to deploy patrolling teams along roads to guarantee travelers’ security.
Fr Abe discloses that the two SPLA Commanders in Wonduruba pledged to collaborate with IDPs, asking the Church to talk to the people to return home to harvest their crops.
