Yei River County Muslim community women voice concerns to President Salva Kiir Mayardit and SPLM/A in Opposition leader Dr Riek Machar Teny that the death of innocent women and children in recurrent war is ‘wrong’.
One of them, Saiid Muhammad says daily hearing of death of innocent children, elders and women is something very ‘wrong and painful’, Radio Easter reported.
She demands the warring parties to think twice and recall the liberation war where many people lost lives and others suffered in exile or internally to become independent.
Another one, Zahara Baharia says there is no need for women to suffer again, running abruptly with children on their backs for survival.
She appeals to the Intergovernmental Authority on Development or IGAD and other allying countries to push the two warring leaders to a lasting peace.
The women made the outcry during the Eid el Fitr celebrations in Yei River County of Central Equatoria State.
