Western Equatoria Governor while addressing the congregation on Sunday at St Mary Yambio Cathedral Parish, urged people to be security conscious in the State.
Bangasi Joseph Bakasoro said his government would continue to provide stable security in the state for citizens and pilgrims to return to Juba, Cenral Equatoria State, Radio Anisa reported.
He was commenting on the recent Lord’s Resistance army or LRA abduction earlier this month in Nabiapai Boma of Gabgura Payam in Yambio County, confirming that he witnessed the release of seven abductees the same day.
Governor Bakasoro warned people not to be afraid from LRA, but to keep a keen eye on aggressors who want to destabilize the peace in the state.
He beseeched the pilgrims to join other churches in Juba to pray for peace because South Sudan will not develop by war but with peace.
The Governor revealed that another round of peace talks is expected in the first week of April in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, urging all South Sudanese to pray for lasting peace in the country.
