Community Empowerment for Progress Organization or CEPO expressed readiness to sue Bakulu Coach to competent court of law in South Sudan under the Transitional Constitution in case of any delay in addressing the issue.
In statement extended to CRN, Executive Director Edmund Yakani said Bakulu Coach rampant accidents on Juba-Kampala road, killing many innocent people is a grave mistake that should be taken to competent court of law without any fear or favour.
He welcomed national government’s move to meet Uganda over Bakulu bus uncontrolled accidents for people’s safety, thanking it for responding to the public outcry on the company’s issue.
The Director said the Company deserves abolition in facilitating public transport services to the country without any excuses as Bakulu Coach’s recent accident demonstrated that it is poorly managed.
The Director is calling on South Sudan and Uganda to make urgent investigation and publicly declare their findings and resolutions to address the issue.
He called on the government of South Sudan to strongly stand for the abolition once the findings are more centered on mismanagement and poor leadership within Bakulu Coach Company.
Acting Government Spokesperson Rebecca Joshua Okwaci told the press on Friday that the cabinet formed a joint committee comprising Roads and Transport, Interior, Justice Ministries and other institutions to establish information about Bakulu Coach rampant fatal accidents for immediate solution.
