Petroleum Minister on Tuesday evening demanded the international community especially Intergovernmental Authority on Development to condemn the alleged fire ignition on oil facilities by SPLM/A in Opposition forces in Unity State.

Stephen Dhieu Dau told the press in Juba that technical and security reports indicated that the oil facilities were set ablaze by Opposition forces operating between South Sudan and Sudan borders.

He added that the act was an implementation of a premeditated plan to scare away and discourage potential investors in the petroleum sector.

Minister Dhieu said oil production resumption in the damaged facilities would take some time due to assessment of the level of harm and fixing them, believing that the destroyers intended to delay any operation in the area.

Minister Dhieu disclosed that feasibility study on alternative oil pipelines through Lamu Port, Kenya and Djibouti via Ethiopia is still ongoing.
