Charity organization declares Morobo open defecation free

South Sudan Development Organization on Wednesday declared Kangayi, Pakayo and Panyume villages in Morobo County of Central Equatoria open defecation free.
 
The Organization’s Program Officer Catherine Nduku commended Morobo local authority and UNICEF for exerting efforts on sanitation, assuring communities of their continuous commitment to promote clean water and hygiene, Radio Easter reported.
 
She said the Organization gave tools to communities for constructing latrines and pledged through UNICEF to avail bicycles to mobilizers to ease service delivery.
 
Wudabi Payam Director Joseph Sebit Kojoba, who represented County Commissioner Moses Simon Soro, told the residents that every home must have latrine, utensils table, bathing shelter and rubbish pit next year to fight diseases.
 
He stressed on the cooperation between the local authority and the community, warning to penalize homes without required health structures in the Payam.
 
The Director thanked UNICEF for funding the local organization, calling for continuous support to improve sanitation.
