Saint Bakhita Health Centre midwife in Yei urged pregnant women to always go for antenatal care for safe delivery and prevention of transmission of HIV and other sexual transmitted diseases.
Betty Agio Duku told Radio Easter that delivering at a medical facility enables experts to overcome health complications as opposed to the traditional delivery.
She said antenatal care monitors pregnancy progress, advises a mother on safe delivery, child care, nutrition, family planning, breastfeeding and HIV and AIDs prevention.
The midwife called on expectant mothers to go for antenatal care to get more information on pregnancy and other health complications.
