The Sudd Institute in partnership with United Nations Development Programme or UNDP is on Tuesday sponsoring a public lecture, exploring the role of regional and international community in the ongoing quest for peace in South Sudan.
In a notice, CRN obtained, the lecture is expected to explore regional and international dynamics on framing of the mediation agenda and warring parties’ perception of the actors in the peace process.
It is expected to examine the availability of competing national, regional and international interests, their implications on the effectiveness and integrity of the process.
The public lecture scheduled to take place later on Tuesday in Juba aims at enhancing the understanding of the regional and international community’s role in IGAD-led peace process.
Discussants expected for the lecture include Sudd Institute Policy Analyst
Benjamin A. Machar, SPLM DC Chairman Dr Lam Akol Ajawin, SPLM Acting Secretary-General Dr Anne Itto, Episcopal Bishop of Rejaf Diocese Enock Tombe and National Legislative Assembly Member Atem Garang.
