The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement North or SPLM-N and the Sudan Government are discussing cessation of hostilities in the Nuba Mountains region of Southern Kordofan and Blue Nile state.
Speaking at the official opening ceremony in Addis Ababa Ethiopia on Wednesday, SPLM-North Chief Negotiator Yassir Saied Arman said humanitarian issue and access is the right of civilians in the two areas and Darfur, Voice of Peace reported.
He added that stoppage of war to address the humanitarian crisis was an entry point to create a conducive environment for the national dialogue.
Mr Arman said continuous aerial bombardment against civilians in Southern Kordofan, Blue Nile and the alleged recent mass rape of women in Darfur was against the humanitarian law.
