The County Education Director reported that insecurity in Rumbek East severely affected Primary eight mock exams performance.

Charles Anau Chirilo said only 245 pupils passed out of 536 candidates who sat, representing 45.7 percent, Good News Radio reported.

He explained that only 24 girls passed out 107 female candidates, making the poorest performance in the exams.

The Director attributed the poor performance to insecurity, expressing fears that Rumbek East candidates may not do well in the final exams because they did not have regular lessons.

He appreciated the commitment of teachers and administrators despite insecurity challenge in Rumbek East, urging them to persevere and continue guiding the learners in order to fulfil their mission of educating the future generation.

Mr Anau was speaking on Monday during the announcement of Rumbek East County mock results.
