Eastern Equatoria Governor directed the legal administration to investigate into the issue pertaining to the strike and legality of the State Professional Union chairperson.

Louis Lobong Lojore criticized the chairperson, calling for his investigation for forgery as his name is number 14 in the list of Union’s office bearers, Radio Emmanuel reported.

He also directed Education ministry to lobby for funds and organize a legitimate body of state teachers Union.

The Governor said some demands were unrealistic, the letter was addressed to a wrong platform and no attendance list and minutes attached to the petition.

In their letter, the teachers listed six demands of house allowance, chalk, Friday cultivation day, feeding and travelling allowances.

More that 20 teachers and head teachers in Torit town denied that the author of strike letter, Mr Cletus Oboi, was the rightful chairperson of Teachers’ Union.
