Fuel shortage hit Yei Electric Cooperative or YECO, a public power supply, prompting it to reschedule operations from the usually normal time of 7:00 AM to midnight.

In a statement Radio Easter obtained a copy, the power blackout starts on Thursday until it gets enough fuel to run the generator and offer normal daily services to customers.

It said the reduction in hours of operation follows low fuel at stock that would not allow the company to offer services to customers for long time as normal.

The power would start flowing from 8.00 AM to 1:00 PM, restarts from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and finally reopens at 6:30 PM and closes at 10:30 PM.
