Yei Municipal Legislative Council is enduring working since establishment despite lack of administrative allowances payment to the councillors.
The Council Speaker Burhan Mohammed Hassan lamented that councillors were facing interrupted sitting due to less payment of transport allowances, Radio Easter reported.
He stressed the need for constant communication, cooperation and consultation between the executives and the legislature to address the challenges.
Mr Mohammed decried low response of some executive members to calls of the legislature to address some misdeeds in the Municipality.
He voiced out councillors’ commitment to continue working, hoping that the new leadership would improve the system towards better service delivery.
Mayor Santo Paul Lasuba urged the councillors to unite and cooperate with the executives to work for peaceful co-existence, adding that money would come later.
The leaders were addressing the Council on Monday in Yei.
