Ugandan youths from Moyo District living in Kajo-Keji County of South Sudan on Thursday during Uganda’s Independence celebration told their leaders to reform from sectarianism, nepotism, disunity, tribalism and hostility to realize development.

Youth member Ariku Lazarus told CRN that recent bloody border fracas that witnessed loss of lives and property between Uganda’s Moyo District and South Sudan’s Kajo-Keji County was steered by bad leadership with negative influence.

He warned that should Moyo District leaders continue to propagate sectarianism and disunity among communities in the district, it would remain undeveloped after several years of independence.

Another youth member Droma Ben Bernard assured his countrymen and women living all over South Sudan that there are no more attacks among Ma’di and Kuku communities on border dispute.

He said Kajo-Keji residents are peace and unity lovers, displaying peaceful and diplomatic approaches from the onset of the conflict and afterwards.

Mr Ben added that without South Sudan, Uganda’s Moyo District economy and the country as a whole is failing because South Sudanese in Moyo were the wealth producers.

He said he was happy to see normal cross border relations taking root after the unexpected battle.

The youth recommended the need for Ugandans and South Sudanese to stay as one people.

Meanwhile South Sudan’s Kajo-Keji County played football match with Uganda’s Moyo District 3-1 in favour of South Sudanese on Uganda’s Independence Day friendly competition.
