Market vendors in Yei Municipality on Thursday appealed to town authorities to allocate new market sites to avoid congestion in market centres.

Anonymous vendors called on the mayor and commissioner to cooperate with community leaders to identify a space to accommodate men and women selling on streets, Easter Radio reported.

They complained that the congestion is pushing sellers to retail at road sides.

The vendors expressed readiness to move three miles away from main town to any sited new market area.

They urged the new leaders to put their concern into consideration.

Mayor Santo Paul Lasuba vowed to improve the market conditions.
