National Security Minister in the Office of the President on Monday told the National Legislative Assembly that he would be ready to disarm Lakes State if tasked to do so.
Lieutenant General Isaac Obuto Mamur Mete said the legislature should not question his capacity to carry out security job because it vetted for his appointment with full knowledge of his capability.
The Minister recommended two strategic types of disarmaments: firearms removal and mental disarmament that he would implement.
General Mamur called for immediate investigation on the source of armament for culprits to be exposed and brought to book without compromise or favour.
The Minister suggested deployment of diverse security forces in Lakes State.
The legislature unanimously recommended for the removal of Lakes Governor Matur Chut Dhuol as first step, saying the murder of his brother and the daughter’s killing of a pregnant woman made him incapacitated and part of the conflict in the state.
