About two thousand Christians on Friday celebrated the feast of the Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary at Holy Cross Parish in Kauda of Nuba Mountains.
Acting Parish Priest Christopher Konga told Voice of Peace that the Assumption Day celebrated in universal Catholic Church reminds Christians of joining the saint in paradise.
Father Konga called on the faithful to imitate the life of Blessed Virgin Mary.
He also urged Christians to intercede through Virgin Mary to overcome many challenges they face in life.
The Acting Parish Priest said Kauda Holy Cross celebrates every year Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The feast drew together Christians from different Chapels of Kauda Parish in El Obeid Catholic Diocese.
