World Vision on Friday distributed 18 ox-ploughs to farming communities of Kuanja and Warget Bomas in Tonj South County of Warrap State.
Tonj South Acting Payam Director Mario Lau Babur said the beneficiaries were happy because they can now cultivate many feddans to produce more food, Don Bosco Radio reported.
Mr Babur said the ox ploughs were given to group of seven people: four women and three men saying the three men would look after the two bulls.
He urged the recipients to use the ox ploughs in group and avoid keeping them for individual use.
One of the beneficiaries, Michael Dangaru, expressed happiness to receive an ox plough and that next year he would cultivate more than this year.
Mr Dangaru advised the two communities to make use of the ox ploughs in their areas to cultivate varieties of crops.
