Yei River County Chamber of Commerce Chairperson dismissed votes held on Wednesday by traders to elect leaders for the Municipal Chamber, saying they are not part of the elections.
Addressing traders and state officials at Youths garden, Tito Ayambu Jakondo, said they will not officially handover because there was no circular from the national chamber of commerce about the elections, Easter Radio reported.
He added that the handover would be done when a circular is received from the national chamber of commerce and after amending the Constitution.
The Acting Secretary Maliamungu Bosco Malish said they received a circular dated July 26, signed by Central Equatoria Chamber of Commerce Secretary, Thomas Taban, giving a green light for the elections to take place.
The national ministry could not be reached for confirmation.
