UNESCO, ZAIN launch Youth Mobile Development training on Tuesday

UNESCO and Zain South Sudan, in partnership with the University of Juba will launch a Youth Mobile Applications Development Initiative in the country.
 
In a statement issued on Friday, the organizations will train 40 young South Sudanese to develop mobile applications based on the Applications Inventor curriculum from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in USA.
 
The initiative aims at engaging young women and men to develop mobile applications for sustainable development.
 
Youth Mobile Initiative launch coincides with the celebration of the International Youth Day on August 12 every year established by the United Nations as a means of raising awareness on issues affecting young people around the world.
 
UNESCO Representative in South Sudan Salah Khaled said the initiative is expected to have positive impact on the youth.
 
The two weeks training will be conducted by the Development School of Kenya run by young Kenyans.
