Malaria increase due to lack of mosquito nets in Lugi

Lugi Health Centre Manager attributed increase of malaria among people to lack of mosquito nets and dirty environment.
 
Mariam Kromboja said there is no improvement as people take treatment, complaining that in few days they return to Lugi Payam of Umm Dorain County health centre sick with the same disease, Voice of Peace reported.
 
Ms Kromboja explained that people getting treatment are poor and do not have good places to sleep, something to cover themselves and that lack of mosquito nets making them prone to infections.
 
She added that skin diseases are common throughout and that during the rainy seasons it rapidly increases.
 
The Health Centre Manager called on Nuba Mountains’ communities to help the suffering people of Lugi, with soap, clothes and other basic necessities.
 
She also called on the international community to help the people of Nuba Mountains region with basic services.
 
Aerial attacks forced many people to hills after the outbreak of conflict in Southern Kordofan in 2011 and they drink unclean water and live in a dirty environment.
