Thousands of Muslims in Western Bahr El Ghazal on Monday gathered at Molid Square in Wau to pray marking Eid El Fitr with a call for renewed spirit of unity in the country.
Muslim Sheik Awad Iddris urged the Muslim community to repent, forgive one another, help the needy, unite, reconcile and ask for peace in the country, Voice of Hope reported.
He called on Muslims to spot out elements causing separation, enmity in order to live in harmony as sons and daughters of God.
Sheik Iddris called Muslims to recommit themselves to faith in their daily life not only during the holy days and months.
State Deputy Governor Zachariah Joseph Garang called on the Muslim community to inspire moral discipline for future generations, pointing out that unity between Muslims and Christians can result into lasting peace among citizens.
