Centre for Democracy and Development called on the government to respect the freedom of expression protected in the Transitional Constitution.
The Centre Program Officer Dara Felix said it was unfortunate that civil society activists and media practitioners face intimidation, Easter Radio reported.
The officer made the call following harassment and intimidation of journalists in the society.
In another news development Mr Felix raised concern over the alarming unnecessary dumping of garbage in the town.
He said it was so worrying to see people littering around the town, appealing the public to dump garbage in specific points than throwing on the streets.
