United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS Gender Affairs Officer in Eastern Equatoria State called for mainstreaming of gender issues at places of work.
Mikelina Emilia in her remarks during gender mainstreaming workshop on Thursday in Torit, called on participants to start addressing masculinity issues at offices in the state, Emmanuel Radio reported.
The officer said there would be monthly sessions to help actors from line ministries to build the capacity of newly identified focal persons in the ministries and civil society organizations.
Ms Emilia added that the workshop would allow the new actors to acquire some basic concepts to be used during their work.
Torit East Primary School teacher Mela Ben Muruga acknowledged the importance of the workshop in empowering participants with gender issue skills.
Some members from schools, women groups and community-based organizations attended the workshop.
