Eastern Equatoria Peace Commission Chairperson called on the people of Murahatiha and Tirangore to resolve their differences and live together in harmony.
Suleiman Liling made the appeal during a meeting on Tuesday in Torit to find means to bring peace among the two communities, Emmanuel Radio reported.
The Chairperson urged the people of Eastern Equatoria to embrace peace to realize development and resolve conflicts through dialogue instead of revenge.
Catholic Relief Service representative Charles Lopayok called on Murahatiha and Tirangore people to end conflict, urging the two parties to stop bloodshed in Eastern Equatoria state.
Torit Catholic Diocesan Peace and Justice Coordinator Fr John Opi Severino appreciated the effort of Peace Commission to bring the two parties together.
The meeting was organized by state Peace Commission in partnership with Torit Catholic Diocese, Catholic Relief Services and community-based organizations.
