South Sudan Guinea worm Eradication Program Director in the National Health Ministry on Monday said the country’s guinea worm cases increased to 22 with 17 from Kauto Payam of Kapoeta East County in Eastern Equatoria State.
Makoyi Samuel told Bakhita Radio that three cases were reported from Awerial in Lakes Sate warning of possible spread to other parts.
The director said the cash reward system is working well by increasing early reporting adding that the ministry and partners were planning to carry massive advertisement of the system through the different media outlets.
Mr Samuel said the group working in the Guinea Worm Eradication in South Sudan is developing dramas and Jingles to create awareness on the cash reward and Surveillance system.
