Abyei Community Chairperson in Juba said the presence of Ethiopian Protection Force UNISFA in the area proved helpless because Sudan Armed Forces or SAF kill residents without any intervention.
Deng Mading told journalists in Juba that it was unfortunate that the African Union Peace and Security Council could not intervene yet UNISFA presence in Abyei area was an agreement between the region and UN Security Council to provide protection.
He argued that UNISFA was not making any effort to stop looting and killing of civilians there.
Mr Mading added that the area was declared to be free from small arms in a meeting between AJOK and UNISFA, but no implementation.
He called on UNISFA to prevent the killing.
Mr Mading said it was surprising that UNISFA; comprising of 4042 soldiers could not intercept the movement of Misseriya Arab Militias.
