US envoy in Ethiopia to push for restart of peace talks

United States or US Envoy to South Sudan and Sudan is in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to meet IGAD mediators to bring warring parties to the negotiating table to resolve the crisis.
 
US Ambassador to South Sudan Susan Page told journalists on Tuesday that America can do so much to ensure the restart of the peace talks.
 
She added that Ambassador Donald Booth is engaging hard with Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn and United Nations’ officials to see South Sudan peace talks resuming after an indefinite stall in June.
 
US Assistant Secretary for Population, Refugees and Migration Bureau Anne C Richard said their continuous visits to the country show persistent interest, care and attention to ensure better peaceful South Sudan.
 
She explained that any American investment in the country should yield prosperity and stability in the region.
 
Ms Richard said she wants to hear from South Sudan government to tell US State Secretary John Kerry and congress on what it intends to do to end the crisis.
