United States Assistant Secretary for Population, Refugees and Migration Bureau on Tuesday said US Administration is opting to restore peace in South Sudan by limiting aid provision to the country and pressing warring parties to resume peace talks in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Anne C Richard told journalists upon arrival at Juba International Airport that US would continue pushing for cessation of hostilities and development efforts to make South Sudan a great nation that the world expects.

Ms Richard announced an additional funding of 21.6 thousand million US Dollars for conflict victims and South Sudan refugees in neighbouring countries.

She revealed that US so far provided 456 million Dollars for South Sudan crisis, lamenting that it would not be enough without contributions from other countries and end of conflict that frustrates aid efforts.

The Assistant Secretary would meet South Sudan Deputy Interior Minister Augustino Jadalla Wani to discuss peace restoration initiatives for return of refugees to access education and other basic services.
