Division Five Commander in Western Bahr El Ghazal warned the SPLA soldiers against discussing federalism with civilians to avoid lost of innocent lives.

Major General David Manyok Barach instructed soldiers not to talk about federalism because their involvement in arguments about federalism might end up in violence, Voice of Hope reported.

The Commander said he would not tolerate what happened in Maridi where Division Six soldier killed two civilians due to arguments on federalism and that the same thing should not happen in Western Bahr El Ghazal.

He said the army would only vote if a chance comes in a referendum.

Major General Manyok refuted social media claims that SPLM/A was a curse to South Sudan, saying the army deserves credit for the liberation struggle.

He also challenged international community for labelling South Sudan number one failed state.

The Commander called upon South Sudanese to defend such unfair labels, urging the international community to revise its report.

Major General Manyok expressed army’s commitment to maintain security in the country.
