President Kiir refuses to order Ugandan forces out of South Sudan

The President of the Republic said he would not order the Ugandan People’s Defense Force or UPDF to leave South Sudan until the country is secured and institutions protected.
 
Salva Kiir Mayardit said the SPLM/A in opposition should not see UPDF presence in South Sudan as a negative force.
 
He affirmed that the country is a sovereign state ready to reach agreement with any country on bilateral defense.
 
President Kiir expressed government’s determination to silence guns in the new nation.
 
He told the masses that there would be an inclusive national political dialogue to freely discuss security forces, law and Constitution reforms where all stakeholders would participate.
 
President Kiir called on the four released detainees to join him in solving issues affecting the country, urging them to forget all grievances.
