Yei River Deputy Mayor instructed all organized forced not to shoot guns on the Independence Day on Wednesday.
Silvano Ali warned that any soldier who would shoot a gun would be arrested and imprisoned.
He announced that soldiers would be deployed around the town and in the evening there would be traditional dances at the Freedom Square.
The Deputy Mayor said boda-bodas are expected to be outside the town to reduce rate of accidents.
Mr Ali made the remarks at Christ the King Cathedral on Sunday.
