Yei Catholic Diocesan Priest on Sunday at Saint Daniel Comboni Chapel of Christ the King Parish said continuous acts of war in South Sudan means political leaders love war and hate peace.

Fr Joseph Arike Eugenio in his homily wondered whether the leaders remember the 21 years of the liberation struggle that claimed many lives, giving birth to the secession of South Sudan, Easter Radio reported.

He attributed lack of peace to hatred, land grabbing, revenge and power greed based on human concept.

Fr Arike called on citizens to come together and pray with sincerity and faith to God and abandon evil deeds and thoughts to bring a lasting peace to the country.

He baptized 46 infants, advising parents to guide the children for spiritual build up in a God’s way, responsible to lead the country peacefully.

The priest called children to study as the only weapon to fight for the bright future of South Sudan.
