Government delegation spokesperson expressed optimism to bring peace to the country “if the opposition come to their senses”.

Michael Makuei Lueth said the Intergovernmental Authority on Development or IGAD either amend the May 9agreement, apply June 10 Communiqué or apply its provision number 13 which says punitive measures would be taken against any party obstructing peace process.

He said as the government seeks peace, they would not like to see any complicating factors injected to interfere with the peace talks.

The Minister added that they are capable to reach peace even within ten or 15 days if opposition was committed.

Mr Makuei said they are ready to sign a deal within the 60 days they agreed upon.
