Sacred Heart Parish, Kw√∂rijik-Luri of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba on Friday celebrated the feast of Sacred Heart of Jesus marking its 62nd anniversary under the theme: ‘I rejoice when I heard them say let us go to God’s house’.
Parish Priest Clement Tombe Masiminio called on Christians in Juba particularly and South Sudan in general to embrace peace to achieve development, Bakhita Radio reported.
He wished all people in the country a happy feast.
Archdiocesan Secretary-General Fr Gabriel Asida who presided over the Eucharistic celebration commended the faithful of Kw√∂rijik-Luri Parish for imitating and showing to one another God’s love.
He noted that in its 62 years’ journey of faith, the parish gave birth to Terekeka, Tali, Rokon and Gurei Parishes.
The Secretary-General announced that Bishop Santo Loku PIO will ordain two seminarians deacons on Sunday during the feast of Sts Peter and Paul.
He called on the faithful to pray for the two deacons-elect and Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro who went to India for treatment.
