Oxfam Field Manager in Mingkaman on Thursday said they will distribute food to 100 thousand IDPs in Awerial County of Lakes State IDPs in July.
George Oluoch Ochere told Bakhita Radio that they distributed in March 1,600 metric tons of food to 24,800 households and that in April 96,014 beneficiaries received 1,671 tons of food and some 97,102 people received 1,760 tons.
Mr Ochere said Oxfam and WFP face transportation challenges due to bad road between Terekeka and Awerial County, calling on partners to repair the road to ease food supply to IDPs.
He said Oxfam in partnership with CHF is also distributing agricultural and fishing tools to 5000 IDPs to reduce reliance on food aid.
The Manager added that the county authorities gave the IDPs land to cultivate their own food.
He appealed to the conflicting parties to resume talks and bring peace for citizens to return home.
