Parents of triplets born at Juba Teaching Hospital on June 5, appealed to the government and well-wishers to extend helping hands to raise their babies as they only depend on cultivation.
Richard Wani and Yeno Jane from Katigiri village in Central Equatoria State on Wednesday said the triplets are God’s blessing to their family, but they have no resources to care for them, Bakhita Radio reported.
The triplets’ mother suffers from headache, swollen legs and general body pain, explaining that she spent two weeks in the hospital and that her two other children at the village also need attention.
The husband lamented that as he struggles to take care of the triplets, his two and half year old child suffers from yellow fever, adding on his responsibilities.
Juba Teaching Hospital Social worker Susan Paulino said the mother of the triplets has no enough breast milk to feed the babies, but uses bottle feeding, calling on the government and NGOs to help the parent with food, housing and clothing.
She added that the babies are healthy, but that their unit lacks soap, pads, and cloths to give to mothers.
