Alur Payam community of Jur River County in Western Bahr El Ghazal State protested against dismissal of their chiefs by local government administration without clear reasons.
Alur community on Friday gathered at the State Secretariat complaining that eight long serving chiefs from the Payam including one Executive Chief, five sub-chiefs and two Deputy Executive were issued termination letters by the local government and appointed new ones against the community wishes, Voice of Hope reported.
They recommended that the eight dismissed chiefs should be reinstated.
Commissioner John Arop Apai refuted the allegations saying, no chiefs were dismissed from the county, but that new Payams were created.
He said the memo was masterminded by some individuals who were not happy with the county administration.
