The United States or US Department of State warned its citizens against all travel to South Sudan.
An embassy statement said after review of security conditions, the Department of State lifted the ordered departure status for the US Embassy in Juba on June 12, 2014.
It added that the embassy would continue operating at reduced staffing levels for the foreseeable future to offer very limited emergency services to US citizens in South Sudan.
The travel warning replaces another one issued on April 23, 2014.
The statement said South Sudan government was currently engaged in an armed conflict, posing instability persistence across the country.
It warns US citizens with medical conditions not to travel to South Sudan, saying health care in the country is extremely limited and poor.
It added that South Sudan Government has limited capacity to deter crime or provide security to travellers anywhere in the country and that Juba Embassy imposed a curfew from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM to ensure the safety of its personnel.
