Fighting in Nuba Mountains delayed cultivation as people did not yet plant seeds since the beginning of rain in March.
The Nuba Agriculture Directress and Food Security Officer Afsa Idriss Almari encouraged the people to start planting seeds to avoid food insecurity, Voice of Peace reported.
She said her office has 52 tractors in the region to help farmers boost their production in 2014.
Nuba Mountains has no adequate food due to the ongoing war between the government and SPLM-N forces in South Kordofan.
