Pope Francis asked Catholics all over the world to join him in prayer for success of peace initiative in the Middle East.
In a circular, the pope requested Christians of all sort and people of good will to offer a special prayer for the gift of lasting peace inspired by Jesus Christ.
The message quoted Jesus’ teaching in the Gospel of Matthew that ‘if two people agree on earth about anything for which they pray, it shall be granted to them’.
The circular is addressed to all archbishops, bishops and ordinary Christians of South Sudan and Kenya.
