Lakes State Fire Brigadier Director on Thursday told traders to cooperate and keep their working places clean to avoid losses resulting from fire outbreak.
Brigadier Chol Mayar Mawien cautioned grinding mills and generators owners in Rumbek market to keep an eye on reckless smokers who throw cigarettes near their power sources, Radio Good News reported.
He called on electricity providers to have proper wiring in the market to avoid unnecessary fire outbreak.
Brigadier Chol said Fire Brigade Department requires active and strong people to do the work like any organized force: the army, police and wildlife.
Last month two children and three adults died of fire in Cueibet market.
