Japan ready to disburse 17 million Dollars pledged in Oslo

The Government of Japan expressed readiness to disburse 17 million Dollars contribution it pledged at the Humanitarian Conference in Oslo by mid-June.
 
In a statement on Monday, Japanese government specified that its contribution would help Internal Displaced Persons and South Sudanese refugees outside the country.
 
Japanese Ambassador to South Sudan Takeshi Akamatsu said ‘peace is imperative so that aid agencies could reach people in need’.
 
He urged the government to prioritize social service delivery, saying it was a very crucial moment for humanitarian response, especially food security in South Sudan.
 
Japan provides food assistance through World Food Program worth 3.5 million US Dollars and others including health, shelter, water and sanitation.
