President Kenyatta bids farewell to South Sudan Ambassador in Nairobi

The President of Kenya bade farewell to South Sudan Ambassador on Thursday, affirming his personal commitment to peace and stability in the young country.
 
In a statement, President Uhuru Kenyatta commended Ambassador Majok Guangdong as a true brother and friend and that his tenure of office in Kenya was a true reflection of the relationship between the two countries. 
 
He said the problems affecting South Sudan undermine social, economic growth and welfare of citizens.
 
President Kenyatta emphasized the need for all South Sudan leaders to work together for peace and stability, saying the conflict also affected Kenyans.
 
Ambassador Guangdong expressed his gratitude to President Kenyatta and the people of Kenya for standing with South Sudan throughout its challenges.
 
The Ambassador commended Kenya’s leading role in the region’s peace initiatives, saying everybody in the continent greatly appreciates Kenya’s role as a peace broker.
