Tonj Commissioner visits Central Prison

Tonj South County Commissioner in Warrap State on Tuesday visited Central Prison to acquaint himself with prisoners’ situation.
 
William Wol Mayom told Don Bosco Radio that the visit was to see conditions of inmates as part of the community.
 
Mr Wol said he distributed some clothes to prisoners to keep them clean, advising them not to escape before their trial.
 
He they arrested one of the raiders who killed the three fishermen on May 17 in Dardar area of Tonj town and that the government would resolve raiders’ cases.
 
The Commissioner urged the citizens of the two counties to cooperate and work for peace and unity to realize development.
 
Mabol Loi, one of the raiders who killed the three fishermen said they came to raid cattle and he was shot at the leg.
 
He said they were three who came from Cueibet County, but failed to get cattle and he was imprisoned with a wounded leg.
 
Tonj South Central Prison Director Ding Akon said the Prison has inadequate toilets and lacks bathing rooms for inmates and that the roof leaks.
