Christ the King Parish Priest said on Monday that strong church needs to put a lot of efforts on the spiritual raising up of children.
Fr Tom Poru Martin told Sunday School’ facilitators that the one-week workshop was important to equip trainers with skills on how to deal with children, Easter Radio reported.
Fr Tom added that Jesus loves children in his ministry because they are innocent and are the future of the church adding that the Pontifical Missionary Childhood Society in the Vatican deals with issues facing children.
The Parish Priest lamented that the war affected many children in the country leaving many as orphans, single parents in need of the church care.
He called on facilitators to use the skills for children’s spiritual progress and the development of the church.
Fr Tom expected more workshops in other parts of the diocese to raise the role of children in the church.
The Parish Priest was addressing facilitators from Yei and St Comboni Chapels on Monday.
