South Sudan Non-governmental Organisations’ or NGOs Forum leader said they lost three members of steering committee due to the ongoing conflict in the country.
Hafeez Ali Wani told CRN on Thursday that many organisations were displaced by the conflict that disrupts activities in South Sudan.
He appreciated some national NGOs’ level of resilience through perseverance and volunteerism even at displaced hideouts where they became victims of the conflict.
Health Link South Sudan Executive Director Emmanuel Douglas called for full involvement of national NGOs in service delivery because they are cost effective and cheap in saving funds for wider coverage.
He said the pledged humanitarian aid funds of 600 million US Dollars would be limited by expenses if World Food Program continues to deliver relief aid by air.
Mr Douglas argued that local NGOs could deliver aid cheaply by water transport if the government and opposition forces open corridors for humanitarian access.
RAAH Executive Director Henry Taban Solomon said donors in Oslo, Norway warned that South Sudan Humanitarian Aid Pledging Conference should be the last of its kind.
