Terekeka IDPs survive on wild fruits, water lilies

Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs from Jonglei state said they survived on wild fruits and water lilies for many months after arrival in Tombek Payam of Terekeka County in Central Equatoria State.
 
In a statement, one of them a woman Rhoda Ajok from Kolyang Payam of Bor County in Jonglei state said they had no food and that they survived on wild fruits and water lilies.
 
Norwegian People Aid, NPA first delivered food to IDPs in Tombek Payam on March 08, covering 8,600 IDPs every month to make a better living.
 
The IDPs said residents of Tombek Payam are kind enough to share little food with them.
 
NPA distributed 38 thousand metric tonne of food from World Food Programme, WFP to 2,178 IDPs in Terekeka County.
 
The IDPs said for now they need hoes and seeds to help them cultivate as they wait for security improvement in Jonglei State to return home.
